Are there any Arthritis Cures?
You may have seen adverts in the tabloid newspapers screaming out “Arthritis Cure!” Or you may have even seen an infomercial on late night TV make the same bold claim. If you have suffered with arthritis for years you maybe seduced into thinking “Could this work for me?”
Well, before you get out your wallet, I would be cautious. Very cautious. The simple fact of the matter is there is no known cure for arthritis. Yes that’s right, there are no arthritis cures. If you are at all curious about this just ask your doctor. He or she will tell you the same thing. Want to get a second opinion? They will confirm there is no known cure.
Let’s be clear on one thing. When I talk about ‘cure’ I’m talking about the permanent reversal of a disease. Not just an absence of symptoms, but a full restoration of your former health at a physical level.
But just because there isn’t a cure, does that mean that you should just give up and forget about trying to live a life with out pain and discomfort? Of course not! Whilst there may not be any arthritis cures (the permanent reversal of your disease) there are plenty of effective treatments that can help with alleviating your symptoms.
These start with the treatment you are receiving from your doctor. Never stop taking the medications you have been prescribed. If the drugs you are taking don’t seem to be having any effect, talk it over with your doctor. Just like the symptoms of arthritis itself vary in different people, so finding the best drug therapy regime can vary from person to person.
Other things that have also been shown to help include appropriate gentle exercises and keeping your weight in check. You could also talk to you doctor about using food supplements such as glucosamine and chondroitin, and fish oil supplements.
This may not be what you want to read about arthritis cures, but it is the hard truth. You can get information on various treatments to relieve the symptoms of arthritis by reading through this website.
